Stags’ Leap Reserve - Cabernet Sauvignon

About This Wine
The 2005 growing season was long and cool in the Napa Valley. Winter rains paused for a dry, mild March then began again with record-setting precipitation delaying bloom and set. Moderate temperatures prevailed throughout the summer months, until warm, nearly perfect conditions arrived in September. At harvest, cool nights and warm days produced the perfect amount of heat to fully ripen the fruit, and the 2005 vintage promises to be well-balanced with impressive structure and fully mature tannins. The Leap Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon opens with complex aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate, clove and a hint of espresso. The structure is dense and compact with harmonious layers of blackberry, black currant, vanilla and anise. Fully resolved and mature tannins carry through to a long finish of brambles, coffee and cocoa powder.
